Louisville was looking for an impact player to add to the defensive line in the #Birdgang18 class. They got one in Allen Love. He is a guy that can come in and play right away.

Love committed to Ole Miss back in June but rumors of keeping his commitment swirled after head coach Hugh Freeze was fired. The firing of Hugh Freeze had Love putting his faith in his decision in God’s hands, as explained in this story by Al.com reporter Khari Thompson.

“It’s stressful, but I prayed about it and I told God if you lead me somewhere else, I’m with you. If you leave me with Ole Miss, I’m with you,” Love said. “I left it in God’s hands. I don’t even worry about it. God may tell me to de-commit, but for right now I’m still with Ole Miss.”

Three days after he de-committed from Ole Miss, he committed to Louisville but had offers from Arkansas, Baylor, Indiana, UCF, Kentucky, Michigan State, NC State, Purdue, Tennessee, Virginia and Ole Miss. He officially signed with Louisville during the early signing period.

CSZ – Before you committed to Ole Miss was Louisville even on your radar?

ALYes! Louisville was one of my top schools and it was between Louisville and Ole Miss.

CSZ –  You officially visited Louisville on December 9th. You de-committed from Ole Miss on December 11th and committed to Louisville 3 days later. What was it that made you know 100% that Louisville was the right place for you?

ALWell, at first I was all Ole Miss. I didn’t even think I was going to de-commit but when I went on my visit, Louisville recruited me hard and showed me a great time. I have family in Louisville and it fit me very well.

CSZ –  With Louisville lacking depth on the D line, what are your expectations of playing time this season?

AL – I‘m looking to definitely to come in and play early, that’s why I chose Louisville.  I’m grinding really hard to make sure I’m in great shape and can handle the ACC.

CSZ –  Who is your favorite Artist and what are the top 3 songs on your playlist?

ALMeek Mill , ‘Lil Boosie and Future. My favorite songs are Meek Mill – wins losses, Meek Mill -shine and Future -4 da gang

CSZ – How do you feel about the new trend of players sitting out of bowl games?

ALI feel it’s a business decision. They are trying to make a better life for their family so I think it’s smart if you know that you have a good chance to get drafted.

CSZ –  Are you close with any of the members of your signing class?

ALThe whole class really . We got a group chat so we talk a lot.

CSZ – This is a standard CSZ question – Is a hotdog a sandwich?

ALYes, A hotdog is a sandwich because it goes between bread.

CSZ –  Would you like to line up at end on passing downs?

ALI will line up anywhere coach Scott needs me but I love 3 tech I feel I’m more effective there with my speed and slow guards really can’t stick with me.

CSZ – Is there an ACC opponent that you are looking forward to playing?

ALYes, Florida State and Clemson.

CSZ –  How much of a role did your parents play in your decision to come to Louisville?

ALNot too much but they did play a big role. I had to make sure they were comfortable with me there and them coming to my games

CSZ –  When will you be arriving on campus?

AL – Late May or early June.

CSZ –  Is there a jersey number that you would like to wear or that is special to you?

AL –   I really want a single digit number don’t really know because C.J. Has number 9.

CSZ –  What would you be SO embarrassed to be seen wearing (but secretly love)?

ALMy underwear with kiss lips on them.

CSZ – ESPN reported that you ran a 5.38 40 yard dash. What is your fastest recorded 40 time?

ALThat is so wrong. I’m way faster than that.  I actually played tight end so I had great speed to be big but I ran a 4.9 at Alabama camp once.

CSZ –  What is your favorite thing to eat for breakfast?

AL –  Eggs and waffles.

CSZ –  What is your most memorable high school moment? It can be on or off the field.

AL – My first sack freshman year. It was the first game of the season and I was starting on varsity and I made my first sack.

CSZ –  What message would you like to send to all of Card Nation right now?

ALTo Card nation I promise I will not let you guys down. Everything that you guys are looking for me to do I will do it and more. I will be one of the top defensive lineman in the ACC and the country!

As Always, GO CARDS!
