Donovan Mitchell is arguably the hottest rookie in the NBA right now. He’s won multiple NBA Western Conference Rookie of the Month awards, played well in the Rising Stars game, is leading all rookies in scoring, and is battling out Ben Simmons for Rookie of the Year.

You can now add NBA Slam Dunk Champion to his ever-growing list of accolades.

His first dunk was pretty amazing as he threw it off a second backboard about 10 feet behind the first and did a windmill dunk.

Next he broke out an old school Utah Jazz Darrell “Dr. Dunkenstein” Griffith jersey. He then proceeded to bring out his sister and Kevin Hart’s family, have a friend throw a pass off the side of the backboard, catch it with one hand, cock the ball back, and dunk over the Hart family.

Next Donovan went with a much more conservative dunk. He threw it off the backboard, caught it with one hand, brought it so far back he nearly touched the back of his leg, and tomahawk dunked.

The dunk that clinched the contest for Donovan Mitchell was a throw back. He pulled off his Utah Jazz jersey to reveal an old school Toronto Raptors Vince Carter jersey and proceeded to do a 360 dunk.

Utah Jazz couldn’t have stated it better.

Congrats to Cardinal Forever Donovan Mitchell on winning the 2018 Slam Dunk Contest. Check out his presser below as well as all of his dunks in one clip both courtesy of @NBA.
