Expected inclement weather forces schedule change for Cardinals and Colonels
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Due to expected inclement weather, the 13th-ranked Louisville baseball team’s 2018 home-opener against Eastern Kentucky will be played one day earlier than originally scheduled as the Cardinals and Colonels will meet Tuesday at 4 p.m., ET at Jim Patterson Stadium.
The opening game on Louisville’s 35-game home schedule was previously set for Wednesday at 3 p.m., but with rain expected for much of the day, officials from both Louisville and EKU agreed to adjust the date of the game.Tuesday’s weather forecast in Louisville calls for a high temperature near 77 degrees and partly cloudy skies.
Tuesday’s game against the Colonels will begin a 14-game homestand for the Cardinals, who will host Youngstown State for a three-game weekend series starting Friday at 3 p.m. Louisville opened the 2018 season by winning all three of its games at the Charleston Crab House Challenge last weekend in Charleston, South Carolina.
