Despite taking the NBA by storm, being a Rookie of the Year candidate, and winning the Slam Dunk Contest, Donovan Mitchell still intends on finishing his degree at UofL.
Kyle Goon of the Salt Lake Tribune, wrote a feature article about Donovan and how his mother made sure that, in spite of his dislike for academics, he would get a great education.
In part because of a promise to his mom, Donovan Mitchell is going to finish his degree at @uofl.

Goon’s article details how, despite Donovan’s obvious athletic prowess, his mother, Nicole Mitchell, made him prioritize his education.
Per Goon, Donovan has more than 2 years of college credit and will begin taking online courses this summer at UofL to start the process of finishing his degree.
According to Goon, Donovan is pursuing the degree for many reasons; among them are that he thinks it will help him become a broadcaster once his playing career is done and that he promised his mother he would finish his degree.
There’s also a great story Goon writes about in which Donovan was held out of a highly important AAU game his 8th grade year. You’ll have to read the full article to get the details.
Check out the article because it really gives an in-depth look at why Donovan is the great young man he is.
