Miller Earns Freshman All-America Accolade from Perfect Game

Righthanded pitcher was 6-1 with 2.97 ERA and 55 strikeouts in 66.2 innings in 2018

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville pitcher Bobby Miller received his second Freshman All-America honor for 2018 as the righthander was named as a First Team selection by Perfect Game on Thursday. Last week, Collegiate Baseball newspaper also tabbed Miller as a Freshman All-American.

A native of McHenry, Illinois, Miller closed his first collegiate season with a 6-1 record, 2.97 ERA and 55 strikeouts in 66.2 innings pitched and 17 total appearances, including nine starts. An All-ACC Third Team honoree and a member of the ACC All-Freshman Team, Miller pitched in the weekend rotation for the Cardinals in each of the final seven weeks of the regular season. He started the ACC Championship title game and earned the victory against Kent State in the elimination game of the 2018 NCAA Lubbock Regional.

The Louisville baseball team closed its 2018 season with a 45-19 record overall after advancing to the championship round of an NCAA Regional for the seventh straight season. Louisville also registered its seventh straight 40-win season and the 11th in 12 seasons under McDonnell.
