The game will be a 12:30 pm kick on the Regional Sports Network. The game will be the ACC opener for both teams. They are permanent crossover opponents.
UofL beat Virginia handily at Cardinal Stadium last year 38-21. However, UofL has not fared well at Scott Stadium in Charlottesville.
In 2014, the Cards fumbled and bumbled their way to a 23-20 loss to a less talented Cavaliers team. In 2016, it took late game heroics from eventual Heisman winner Lamar Jackson to beat the Cavaliers 32-25. Jackson threw a beautiful 29 yard game winning TD pass to Jaylen Smith with 13 seconds left.
