The Cards faced their toughest test of this young season when they faced Vermont on Friday night. Louisville finished the night with a 86-78 win, but it was only that close because the Cards couldn’t put Vermont away. Louisville led by 22 with 8 minutes left in the game, but only ended up with an 8 point win.
Louisville’s leading scorer was Jordan Nwora with 22 points on 4 of 7 from 3. Darius Perry pitched in 17 points, while Steven Enoch and VJ King both had 14. The Cards out-rebounded Vermont by 6, but Louisville surrendered 0 offensive rebounds, which was an issue for last year’s team.
The Cards go on the road for the first time this season to take on Tennessee next Wednesday at 5 pm. If Louisville wins that game they will face either Marquette or Kansas. The next home game will be on Tuesday the 27th when they will face Michigan State.
