Louisville improved to 8-3 with a 83-70 win over Kent State (8-2) at home on Saturday.

Christen Cunningham led the Cards with 17 points (12 in the first half), the most he’s scored in a Louisville uniform. Jordan Nwora had another strong game with 13 points and 10 boards. Altogether, four Cardinals scored in double figures today and the team shot 51 percent from the field. Jaylin Walker from Kent State led all scorers with 28.

Kent State kept it close early, but Louisville used a big run later in the first half to go up 45-28 at the break. The Cards extended their lead to 24 early in the second half and cruised from there. Louisville shot a season high 50 percent from three (9/18).

This was an impressive performance from the Cards today. They were expected to win big and were in control for the majority of the game. Kent State scored the final 6 points of the game to cut the lead to 13, but it was never in doubt.
