Louisville at Pittsburgh: Cards Travel To Pitt For Battle with Panthers

The Louisville Cardinals travel to Pittsburgh for their first road ACC game tonight against the Panthers. The game tips off at 8pm and can be watched on the Wave 3 or the ACC Network. Louisville is currently a 3.5-point favorite.

Pittsburgh (10-4) is led by a pair of freshman guards, Xavier Johnson and Trey McGowens. The pair average 16.8 points per game and 12.4 points per game, respectively. Johnson leads the team in assists also (4.8 per game). LouisvilleĀ has to slow down the guard-tandem to win tonight.

This is Pittsburgh’s head coach, Jeff Capel’s first season and he has quickly got the Panthers out of the pit former coach Kevin Stallings put them in. Pittsburgh doesn’t have any notable wins and recently got blasted by UNC by 25, but they already have 2 more wins this year than they had all last year (8). Louisville has dominated Pitt since the teams joined the ACC, but Capel has the Panthers trending in the right direction.

Louisville wins tonight. Pittsburgh is getting better, but still isn’t ready to fully get over the hump.

Louisville 82 – Pittsburgh 68.
