Virginia has been a thorn in Louisville’s side ever since the Cards joined the league. They usually have played UofL close or outright beaten them.
Last year, they blew the Cards out 27-3. Bryce Perkins was like a wrecking ball against the Cardinals’ defense. He threw for 197 yards and 2 scores and rushed for 78 yards and 1 score.
Louisville played two QBs in the game. Malik (now Micale) Cunningham started and completed 6 of 9 passes for 35 yards and 1 interception. Jawon Pass relieved Cunningham and completed 10 of 19 passes for 113 yards and 1 interception.
The running game faired no better. The leading rusher for the game for UofL was Cunningham with 26 yards on 10 carries.
The Cards will be entering the Virginia gane after a battle with the defending national champion Clemson Tigers on Saturday at noon. Virginia will be coming into the game after playing their Coastal Division foe Duke.
