Micale Cunningham’s performance against Syracuse last Saturday was nearly flawless. The redshirt sophomore QB ran for 60 yards and a TD and threw for 238 yards and 5 TDs in a 56-34 romp.
His play has earned Cunningham the honor of being named one of the Manning Award’s Stars of the Week. Seven other QBs have also been named Stars of the Week. However, fans determine which of these eight QBs gets the top honor by voting for the QB of their choice.
Earlier this season, Evan Conley was up for this weekly honor after his performance in relief of an injured Cunningham against Wake Forest. He did not win, however. I refuse to mention who actually won except to say he is not a QB by trade. No, he is a receiver.
