Javian Hawkins Is A Human Highlight Reel

Louisville Football had an amazing season under first year coach Scott Satterfield. Taking over a 2-10 team, Coach Satterfield was able to get 8 wins including a bowl victory over Mississippi State. One of the big catalysts for this wonderful season was redshirt freshman RB Javian Hawkins.

The RB, nicknamed PlayStation, lives up to his nickname. He cut, danced, juked, and spun through numerous defenses throughout the year in route to a thousand yard season. In fact, he was the first 1000 yard rusher at the RB position since Bilal Powell in 2010. He finished the season with 1525 yards and 9 rushing TDs. His 1525 yards were the best in school history breaking Howard Stevens long standing record.

Hawkins amazing season earned him Freshman All-American honors from the Football Writers Association of America. He’s also being mentioned as a potential Heisman candidate this upcoming season.

In other words, Louisville has a very special football player in Javian Hawkins. He’s putting up excellent numbers as just a freshman and will likely grow into one of the best backs in the ACC and probably all of college football.
