Last week we posted an opponent preview from a Syracuse website. You guys really seemed to like that so we will try to find as many as we can for you.
As I stated last week, in early August, we will be releasing our annual game by game predictions where we give you info about each opponent on the schedule and predict an outcome.
This week, Michael Clark of 247 sports released his opponents preview. He gives State fans a review of Louisville’s 2019 season, then he previews the offense and defense. He also says,
NC State vs. Lousville 2020The Cardinals enter 2020 with high expectations and will have a chance to become one of the better teams in the league. Led by a proven head coach and an experienced offense, as well as what should be an improved defense, Louisville presents a major challenge for whatever team it lines up against this fall.Fortunately, State gets the Cardinals in Week 1 of the season. Last year, State led 10-7 at halftime. However, the Pack gave up 20 third-quarter points, and the Cardinals pulled away in the second half. The Wolfpack will need to play well offensively and establish long drives to keep the ball away from Louisville’s explosive offense. But look for State to lean on its defense, which should be much-improved this fall, in Week 1 when the season opens up.
If State can limit big plays defensively and establish a running game early, the Wolfpack may be able to steal one on the road. Leaving Louisville 1-0 would be huge for Pack, which gets nine days off before returning to action at home against Mississippi State Sept. 12.
