Louisville Football has began its fall camp in preparation for the upcoming 2020 season. Today, Offensive Coordinator and Offensive Line Coach Dwayne Ledford and redshirt senior OL Robbie Bell spoke with the media after practice.
Coach Ledford discussed a myriad of topics. Among them, he describes a little of what it’s like operating in the Covid era. He said being back with the players in a familiar setting is, “therapy.” He also discusses what the staff is doing to improve on an issue that plagued the offense last season: negative yardage plays. UofL also has quite a few playmakers on offense and Coach Ledford explained that their offense is designed with the “flexibility” to get the ball in their playmakers’ hands.
Robbie Bell explained that he and the team do have the ongoing pandemic on their minds. However, he said the players trust the health professionals around them and that they do their best to, “go about business as regularly we can.” Bell described the goal of this year’s offense this way: “Every game we’re gonna be the best unit on the field. That’s our goal.” Bell believes the stated goal of the offense above is achievable because they offense is already. Bell stated that he believes the offense is as good or better than they were during the Music City Bowl.
