UofL WBB Recap Vs Bellarmine Knights

Pregame Notes:

Happy New CardNation from the staff at CSZ. The Cards are playing their second game in as many days. They beat a very gamed NKU Norse team 74-64 after over three weeks of not playing. This is a rescheduled game due to a covid pause. Louisville leads the overall series 10-2.

1st Quarter:

Cards go on an early 7-0 run after the Knights took a 5-2 lead. Louisville opened up a 10-point lead (19-9) with under 3 minutes to go in the quarter. Cards shot 50.0% from the field and led 26-12 after the first quarter.

2nd Quarter:

The Cards continued to add on to lead with a 7-0 run to end the 1st and opened up a 32-12 lead. They continued to suffocate the Knights as the bench extended the lead to 30 at one point. UofL took a 52-21 lead into intermission.

The Cards come out on a mission and continue the onslaught of the Bellarmine Knights. A lot of subs got playing time and they didn’t let up. They ended the quarter on a 16-4 run. The Cards took a 77-32 lead into the final quarter.

4th Quarter:

The Louisville bench continued to get valuable playing time and live game experience as they closed out the game for the Cards. Freshman Malea Williams made he Cards debut during the quarter. Cards win easily 97-46.

Louisville improved to 7-0. Olivia Cochran finished with 15 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 blocks. Dana Evans had 11 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists. Hailey  Van Lith led the team with 8 rebounds and added 4 points, Merissah Russell chipped in with 7 rebounds. Liz Dixon had a great game. She finished with 14 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 blocks off the bench. Cards had 6 players in double figures scoring.

Next game is scheduled for Tuesday vs North Carolina at the KFC YUM Center at 2:30 pm.
