Cards & Skyhawks Run It Back. WBB Post Game Recap.

Pregame Notes:
Again, Happy New CardNation from the staff at CSZ. Coach Walz worked his scheduling magic again, as the Cards take on UT-Martin for the second time. Louisville beat UT-Martin 85-67 on December 6th, 2020. For Louisville, the Cards go from zero games in 3 weeks to 3 games in 5 days.

Starting Lineup:

1st Quarter:
Balogun got the scoring for the Cards, as she scored on an offensive putback. At the midway point of the game Dana Evans have more points (11) and field goals (4) than the Skyhawks 9 and 3 respectively. Cards end the quarter on a mini run of 9-4 and led 21-13 after one.

2nd Quarter:

Midway through the second quarter Dana Evans remained hot offensively as she helped Louisville increased the lead. Louisville opened up their biggest lead and took a 49-24 lead into intermission.

3rd Quarter:

Dana Evans continues to have a great game, she started the quarter with an excellent dime to Cochran and followed with a 3 pointer on the ensuing possession. Eventhough both teams were a tad sloppy, Louisville opened a 30 point lead on numerous occasions in the third. Cards led 78-43 heading into the final quarter.

4th Quarter:

Another game where the Cards bench and younger players get a lot of playing time in the fourth quarter. Cards end the game on a 9-0 run, seven of which came from freshman Malea Williams. Malea Williams scored 7 points, 3 rebounds and had a block in the quarter as well. Louisville wins easily 96-61.

Post Game Notes and Leaders:

Louisville improves to 8-0 with the win today. Dana Evans had a very good and efficient performance, she scored a new career high in points(29), along with 5 assists and 2 rebounds. Malea Williams scored her first points as a college player, then followed it with her first collegiate basket. Kianna Smith had 14 points, along with 5 rebounds and 2 steals. Olivia Cochran led the Cards with 6 rebounds and added 8 points.

Next Opponent:

Next game is scheduled for noon on Sunday vs Clemson at the KFC YUM Center. There might be a game scheduled before then on Thursday or Friday.
