Louisville Football will head to Atlanta to open this coming season and will again visit the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in 2023. The Cards will battle SEC opponent Ole Miss this season and will take on ACC Coastal Division member Georgia Tech in 2023.
Louisville has played in the Chick-Fil-A Kickoff game once previously. That was in 2015 when they battled Auburn in the now-defunct Georgia Dome. The Cards lost the game 31-24, but the story was a true freshman QB named Lamar Jackson who led the Cards on a furious comeback that came up just short. From there, Jackson would use the game as a platform to leap to a sophomore season Heisman, becoming a first round NFL Draft pick, and a unanimous NFL MVP award.
