Henry Davis homered in the fifth inning, his sixth of the 2021 season, as the fifth-ranked Louisville Cardinals (17-7, 9-3 ACC) took a 5-3 win over Wake Forest (9-10, 4-8) on Friday night.
Davis finished 2-for-4 with a home run and an RBI, with Lucas Dunn hitting a double on his 1-for-3 evening. Trey Leonard continued his hot streak at the plate with a perfect 3-for-3 outing, adding two RBIs and two stolen bases to his line. Leonard now leads the team in batting with a staggering .434 average.
Michael Kirian continued his undefeated streak as the Friday starter, striking out 11 batters on six innings of work. Tate Kuehner and Adam Elliott finished the game on three shutout innings of work from the bullpen, as Louisville finished with a season-high 17 strikeouts as a group.
