#5 Louisville (18-8, 10-4 ACC) took a 6-3 loss to Wake Forest (10-11, 5-9) on Easter Sunday, despite taking the series with wins on Friday and Saturday.
Wake Forest hit three home runs across the first eight innings to take the Easter Sunday finale. Adam Cecere and Chris Lanzilli belted out solo shots in the third and fifth innings, respectively. After Lucas Costello’s RBI single in the fifth, Brock Wilken book ended the game with a two-run homer in the eighth inning that put it out of reach for Louisville, taking a 5-0 lead.
Louisville did get its three runs in the eighth and ninth innings, two of them driven in by Henry Davis (RBI single in the eighth, and RBI double in the ninth) and one from Cam Masterman’s sac fly in the eighth. Wake Forest would add a run in the ninth on a fielder’s choice from Costello.
