WWE Returns To Louisville July 25th!

I know what you are thinking….this is the Cardinal Sports Zone, right? That is true, but it is not my only passion. Several years ago, myself and a few friends started a podcast called the Ringside Podcast. We got in good with the local promotions, Daniel became a multi-organization ref, and we took the Podcast to unseen heights. So, we are blessed to be able to now do pub for most of the promotions around and get some great interviews. I will tell you more about that later in the story. For now, lets talk about the legacy that is wrestling in Louisville.

As most people know, I am a huge fan of wrestling. The city of Louisville has a huge wrestling following. One of the most historic cities in wrestling, Louisville has a rich tradition. If you talk to anyone who is 30 or over then you will more than likely hear a story about how they were at the Gardens on a Tuesday night to see Jerry Lawler, Jeff Jarrett, Bill Dundee, or many others that came up from the Memphis territory. Then in the late 80s the WWF/E would come to the KY State Fair every year and that would be some of our most memorable times from the summer. It was a big deal! Fast forward a little bit to the end of the Memphis territory touring in Louisville and the beginning of one of my favorites…OVW! They produced some of the greatest of all time with Lesnar, Cena, Orton, Batista, and Benjamin just to name a few. That was one recruiting class! They also had superstars like The Miz, Kofi, Drew, Beth Phoenix, John Morrison, Dolph Ziggler, and others that trained there. They were the developmental for WWE and then for another company. Now that they are under the tutelage of Al Snow, they are on the way up again! After that, Louisville lost Live TV & PPV shows due to the blood rules in the state legislature and we didn’t see WWE as often as before. Just recently those laws have been reversed and the WWE is back home in Louisville!

Tickets for the show go on sale tomorrow morning at 10 am to the public and I, for one, cannot be more excited! This morning myself and Daniel Spencer got an amazing opportunity to interview WWE Superstar Big E! I will leave the link to that below. Very thankful for that blessing and the ability to reach out to the people that we do. If you have ever loved wrestling and you are ready be safe again and go see a show, get your tickets tomorrow!
