Louisville A Finalist For Minnesota Grad Transfer Marcus Carr

Louisville Men’s Basketball has been hitting the grad transfer market hard since Coach Chris Mack’s arrival. It appears they are looking to make a huge splash in this year’s grad transfer market. Sources have told CSZ that Minnesota grad transfer Marcus Carr is down to two schools: Texas and Louisville. Earlier, ESPN’s Jeff Borzello had reported that Louisville and Texas were one of four finalists along with Kansas and uk.

Carr would be a massive pickup for UofL as he was one of the best players in the Big 10 and the nation. The 6’2 195 lbs Canadian-born star was a stalwart for the Gophers in 2020-2021.

Averaging 19.4 ppg, 4 rpg, 4.9 apg, and 1.3 spg, Carr led the team in scoring, assists, and steals and was 3rd on the team in rebounding. His season performance earned him 2020-2021 All-Big Ten First Team selection by the AP.

Carr is the embodiment of what Chris Mack wants in a guard. A tough, athletic, smart guard that can finish around the rim through contact and is a clutch shot maker. Louisville has the talent to be a Final Four contender this season, but Carr’s addition would arguably make them one of the true legit contenders. Now we wait and see what Marcus Carr’s decision will be.
