Former Louisville men’s basketball player Montrezl Harrell is on the move again. This time, he is headed to Washington in a blockbuster deal that will send All-Star PG Russell Westbrook back to the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Washington Wizards have agreed to trade Russell Westbrook, 2024 second-round pick, 2028 second-round pick to the Los Angeles Lakers for Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Montrezl Harrell and No. 22 tonight, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium.

Harrell signed with the Lakers last offseason after spending four years with the Clippers. Earlier on Thursday, he accepted a player option on his contract which allowed the Lakers to include him in the trade.

The 27-year-old Harrell is entering his 7th season in the NBA. Last year for Los Angeles, he averaged 13.5 points and 6.2 rebounds per game in 69 appearances. He will be an unrestricted free agent after the end of next season.
