Vince Tyra Confirms A Statue For Lamar Jackson

Vince Tyra was on the Deener Show on 939 the Ville this morning and made a big announcement. Arguably the greatest QB to ever wear a Cardinal uniform will be getting a statue. Lamar Jackson will be honored with a statue at Cardinal Stadium in the near future.

This is well-deserved as Jackson won the only Heisman Trophy in school history and has been making waves in the NFL since his rookie season. Two years ago he was voted as only the second unanimous MVP in NFL history.

The Lamar statue will be built and placed at the main entrance along with the statue of former Louisville and Baltimore Colt great Johnny Unitas. No details as far as when the statue will be completed and what the statue will look like were released. There are many possibilities for the pose they could use. Lamar actually used the Heisman pose a few times, but maybe the moment from his Heisman winning season everyone remembers was the “Lamar Leap,” over a Syracuse defender.

It’s an honor quite a few Louisville fans have wanted for Lamar and now he’s getting it. Based on his accomplishments both here at UofL and so far in the pros, Lamar is very deserving.
