Louisville Live lived up to the hype once again. I have been lucky enough to attend all three Louisville Live events and this one showcased the iconic Churchill Downs as the venue for the event. My wife Meagan and I were right behind the basketball goal. Our vantage point provided a great view of the runway where the introductions were made and gave us an up-close for all the action.
The event kicked off with our very own DJ KDogg dropping some beats and getting the crowd excited while the 1986 championship team signed posters. Among the 1986 legends were Milt “Iceman” Wagner and legendary coach Denny Crum. As the event kicked off, Louisville fans showed up in droves still riding the high from the previous night’s win against UCF. The football team came to support their fellow Cards as well.
As the night commenced, Maria Taylor and Angel McCoughtry introduced the women’s and men’s 2021-2022 basketball teams while they showcased their skills in 3-point shooting and a dunk contest. The night was electrifying from the 1986 team, to the skills, and to Coach Mack paying homage to Denny Crum with the sleek red blazer and black tie look complete with the rolled up program clutched in his hand. Like usual, the Louisville Live event pulled out all the stops.
The special guests did not stop there as Dr. Dunkenstien himself and Montrezl Harrell were part of the event. This night was an amazing night to show off our great city, iconic history of horse racing, and, above all, our Louisville basketball.
