Louisville Volleyball Introduces Three 2022 Signees

The #1 ranked University of Louisville Volleyball program announced three signings for the 2022 class on Wednesday afternoon. Setter Alexis Finnvold, middle blocker Hannah Sherman, and outside hitter Nina Moorer will join Dani Busboom Kelly’s squad next fall.

From the university’s press release:

“Today is a great day for Louisville volleyball,” said UofL head coach Dani Busboom Kelly.  “COVID-19 made the recruiting process tough for the class of 2022, but we are thrilled to bring in Alexis, Hannah, and Nina.  All three add some much-needed depth with the departure of six seniors and will have an immediate impact in our program both on and off the court.  The most impressive part of the 2022 class is their character.  In order to keep Louisville at the top of the ACC and competing on a national stage, we not only need great volleyball players, but athletes that are hard workers, competitive, and selfless.”

Alexis Finnvold, a 6-0 setter, comes to the Ville from Boca Raton, Fla., where she played club for 18 Elite Dean and Coach Dean Barboza. She also played for Boca Raton Community High School for Coach Dre Sloan where she helped her team to District Championships in 2019 and 2020. She was named First Team All-County 2020 and made the AVCA Phenom Watch List in 2019.

Hannah Sherman, a 6-1 middle blocker from Silver Springs, Md., played for Metro 18 Travel and Coach Sylvia Johnson. Sherman also played for Academy of the Holy Cross for Coach Dave Geiser.  As a starting middle hitter, she ranked fifth in the nation this past club season for her U-17.  She ranked No. 1 in CHRVA this past club season and her team qualified for USAV nationals at U14, U15, U16, and U17. She was ranked No. 45 in the Top 150 list for 2022 for prep volleyball in her 16s year and was the best blocker in the Capitol Hill tournament in 2017 and 2019.

Nina Moore, a 6-0 outside hitter from Missouri City, Texas, played for Houston Skyline 18 Royal for Coach Alex Edwards. She also played for Ridge Point High School and Coach Lauryn Bailey. She was an AAU All-American in 2019 and 2020 as well as being named Hillsborough County Player of the Year in 2019.  She was named to the AVCA Phenom Watchlist in both 2020 and 2021. A GHVCA Preseason Team selection in 2020 and 2021, she was named District 20-6A  2020 Newcomer of the Year.  She was a Western Conference First Team selection in 2018 and 2019 and helped lead her team to Regional runners-up in 2019. She led Hillsborough County in kills in 2019 and was Steinbrenner High School team leader in kills in 2018, 2019.  She led Ridge Point High School in kills in 2020.
