U of L opens its season with a neutral site weekend series in Tampa, Fla. The Cardinals are slated to play Charlotte, South Florida, and Connecticut Feb. 18-20 (Charlotte on Friday, USF on Saturday, and UConn on Sunday).
The opening weekend series is followed by a month-long homestand that stretches from February 22nd to March 22nd, spanning 18 games. The homestand is highlighted by a midweek showdown with TCU on March 8th, the first time that the Cardinals and Horned Frogs have played against each other since the 2017 College World Series. Louisville follows that up with a weekend series against Michigan on March 11-13, with Michigan recently appearing in the 2019 College World Series (though the Cardinals and Wolverines did not play each other in Omaha that season). Louisville’s home opener is February 22nd at 3:00 p.m. ET against Xavier.
Louisville also hosts Dartmouth (February 25-27), Morehead State (March 1st), Akron (March 4-6), Northern Kentucky (March 15th), Bellarmine (March 16th), Notre Dame (March 18-20), and Lipscomb (March 22) in the month-long homestand.
Louisville’s schedule also features three opponents that made an appearance in the 2021 College World Series. Louisville hosts NC State on April 22nd-24th, travels to Vanderbilt for a midweek showdown on May 3rd, and has its weekend home finale against Virginia on May 19-21.
Louisville’s other notable non-conference games include at home versus Indiana (May 10th), and the annual home-and-home series against Kentucky (at UK on April 5th, v. UK on April 19th).
In addition to hosting Notre Dame, NC State, and Virginia, Louisville also hosts North Carolina (April 8-10) and Clemson (April 29th-May 1st) in ACC play. Louisville will travel to Boston College (March 25-27), Pitt (April 1-3), Florida State (April 14-16), Wake Forest (May 6-8), and Virginia Tech (May 13-15) for ACC road matchups.
They will also have a home-and-home with Western Kentucky this season. The Cardinals will travel to Bowling Green to face the Hilltoppers on March 29th, then UofL hosts WKU on April 26th.
