Local Standout Jeremiah Collins Commits to Hometown Cardinals

The University of Louisville program has had a huge weekend on the recruiting, as the program hosted a plethora of big-name standouts from across the country. That momentum continued when the Cardinals received a commitment from local standout cornerback Jeremiah Collins.

“Knowing that I can put in for the city and change the program to what it should be is a blessing for me”, Collins explained.

The Louisville Male High School phenom attended camp with the Cardinals back in June, and received an offer shortly after. In the past eight months, Collins has been offered by Louisville, Purdue, Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Vanderbilt, Illinois, and others.

Collins is currently ranked as the 378th-best prospect in the 2023 class (three-star), and fourth-best in the state. Defensive back is a position that Head Coach Scott Satterfield and company will recruit big in this cycle due to the lack of depth at the position projected for 2023.

Here is a brief, initial scouting report on Collins:

-Good size for a DB (6-foot-2), solid athleticism and verticality

-Does a great job of high-pointing the ball, excellent in jump-ball situations

-Has shown ability to be a good open-field tackler

-Versatile: could be lined up in the nickel or on the outside, or even at safety
