It wasn’t easy, but the Cards held on to beat 15th-ranked TCU on Tuesday. The Cards held a 9-0 lead after six innings highlighted by a five run 5th inning. Jared Poland had a strong outing, but the same can’t be said about the relievers. Coach McDonnell went to the bullpen seven times trying to find a way to stop TCU’s furious comeback. TCU scored four runs in the 7th and four more in the 8th. The tying run was gunned down at the plate by Isaac Humphrey’s bullet throw from right field to end the inning. Michael Prosecky came in and closed it out in the 9th as the Cards move to 9-3 and win their 6th in a row.
