Pregame Notes:
The Louisville women’s basketball team is currently 2-0 and head to Nashville for a tough road game versus the Belmont. The Cards are coming off an 84-62 win over IUPUI. The Bruins however, present a completely different challenge for the Cards in this young season. Last year, Louisville beat Belmont 80-66 in the YUM Center. UofL leads the all-time series 4-0, but all of those games were in the friendly confines of the YUM Center.

1st Quarter:
A HVL bucket gets the scoring started for the Cards after a couple of offensive rebounds by Olivia Cochran. Both teams traded baskets for half of the quarter. Both teams played hard and neither team had more than a 4-point lead. Louisville trailed for the first time after the quarter, as the Bruins led 17-16.
2nd Quarter:
The Cards struggled for most of the quarter, as the Bruins found their offensive rhythm early. UofL trailed for most of the quarter and Belmont opened up their biggest lead of 6 midway through the quarter. Louisville ended the quarter on a 9-0 run to take a 37-34 lead into intermission.

3rd Quarter:
Belmont got the 1st points of the quarter, but Mykasa’s 6th and 7th points of the game extended the lead back to 3. Belmont continued to execute their offense, and if Louisville wasn’t forcing turnovers, Belmont got what they wanted. Both teams went back and forth the entire quarter, but a tough bucket by HVL gave the Cards a 50-48 lead heading into the final quarter.
4th Quarter:
Louisville scored 25 points, but allowed 22 points in the quarter. A few big buckets by Van Lith and Robinson helped take the lead for good after Belmont took a 4-point lead with 6:28 left to go. The Cards shot 14-14 from the free throw line to help ice the game. Louisville survived Belmont 75-70 to move to 3-0.

Post Game Notes:
UofL improve to 3-0 after a tough road win against Belmont. The Cards were led in scoring by Hailey Van Lith with 25. Olivia Cochran had a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds. She also added 3 assists. Mykasa was huge for the Cards. She finished with 9 points, 2 assists, and 2 rebounds. Morgan Jones struggled all game with foul trouble. She finished with 2 points, 2 rebounds, and 4 fouls in just 12 minutes of play. The Cards struggled on both ends of the floor the entire game. Belmont seemingly got everything they wanted until the last possession of the game, when they were called for an offensive foul on an illegal screen.
