On Tuesday night, the Cards hosted conference foe Syracuse at the KFC YUM! Center. We saw the Cards play a much better brand of basketball. Things just felt different from the start. Kamari Lands got the start over Jae’Lyn Withers and the Cards played inspired with a little more confidence. They moved the ball very well and overall their spacing looked better.
But in the end, the same mistakes that have plagued the Cards most of the season showed up and led to a 1-point loss, 70-69. The Cards downfall was again turnovers (21). Combine that with shooting 40% from the free throw line and it’s tough to win.
Overall, there were some good things to takeaway from this game and fans left with the feeling that many of the remaining games will be more competitive.
