Women’s Soccer (2-5-4):
The Cardinal women’s soccer team had two matches this week against Pittsburgh and Miami. The Cardinals got the victory over Pittsburgh on Thursday with a 3-2 victory at the Dr. Mark and Cindy Lynn Stadium. Emma Hiscock started the scoring for the Cardinals with scoring the first goal since 2021 after missing the 2022 season with an injury. The Cardinals never looked back after that goal. Miami Hurricanes were up next in Miami. The Cardinals fell in a defeat 0-1 even they lead the shots on goal and all shots.
Up Next: The Cardinals host Notre Dame on Saturday at 7 pm.
#5 Volleyball (11-1):
The Cardinals volleyball team continued their dominance with two statement victories to start the ACC Play. The Cardinals faced Syracuse on Friday and swept them with help from Senior Anna DeBeer’s, 9 kills. As a team, the Cardinals hit .458 and 38 total kills. The Cardinals then hosted Boston College on Sunday and took care of them as well. Charitie Luper’s 15 kills and Anna DeBeer’s 18 kills helped lead the Cardinals with their team high of 61 kills.
Up Next: The Cards face Notre Dame on Wednesday in South Bend at 7 pm and at NC State at 4pm on Sunday.
#5 Field Hockey (7-1):
The Cardinals field hockey team continued their dominance over their unranked opponents. The Cardinals looked down James Madison behind two goals from Emilia Kaczmarczyk. She helped the Cardinals cruise to a 4-1 victory.
Up Next: The Cardinals travel to Oxford Ohio for Miami of Ohio on Tuesday at 6pm and then host #6 Virginia on Friday at 3pm.
Women’s Golf:
The Cardinals competed in the Mason Rudolph Invitational (Vanderbilt) on Friday through Sunday. They finished 10th with a team score of 5 over par.
Up Next: Windy City Collegiate Class put on by Northwestern starting next Monday.
Men’s Golf:
The Cardinals traveled to Cincinnati and competed in The Bearcat Invitational. They finished 2nd out of the 17 teams. Cardinals’ Sebastian Moss, led the tournament with a 12 under par performance.
Up Next: The Cardinals travel to Durham on Sunday to compete in The Rod Myers Innovational.
#10 Men’s Soccer (5-1-1):
Coach John Michael Hayden and the Cardinals defeated Evansville on the road 2-0 behind goals from Ethan Subachan and Damien Barker John. This was the Cardinals fourth shutout victory on the season. This game also was tied at 0-0 till the 78th min with Ethan’s goal. The Cardinals hosted NC State on Sunday evening and had the scoring output that Coach John Michael Hayden was looking for all season. The Cardinals took down the Wolfpack 5-2. The Cardinals outshot the Wolfpack 17-14.
Up Next: The Cards will travel to Virginia on Friday and then host Kansas City next Monday.
