CSZ Staff Predictions: Louisville vs NC State

Jeremy Wahman

Louisville 41 – NC State 27

Playing at Carter-Finney is always a nightmare for us. Blackouts, prime time featured game & we always fold there in those situations….

Not so fast my friend! This week we finally solve the NCST conundrum and win 41-27. Jordan, Thrash & Huggins-Bruce eat. We finally get a non-offensive TD & we roll to a victory! The biggest storyline of the game is do we see the old Plummer (first 3 games) or the new one? First 3 Plum was like a Ford Taurus. He was dependable & could get you from point A to point B. Last game Plum was like a Lambo. Flashy, efficient & zoomed up & down the field. My money is on Lambo Plummer…..Stay Tuned!

Louisville 27 – NC State 21

In my preseason predictions I had this as a loss because I felt both team were fairly equal and because it was a road game, I gave the advantage to the Wolfpack. But then the season started and the Cards may be a little better than I anticipated. However I don’t think this is an easy win but rather a true test of just how good this Cards team truly is. This will either be a dog fight until the end or the Cards win by fiddy. NC State has won 20 of its last 21 September games at Carter-Finley Stadium while Louisville has won 19 of its last 20 September games as a favorite. Ultimately, I think the Cards win in a low scoring affair.

Louisville 31 – NC State 27

Once again, Higgy was unable to provide any thoughts or analysis because his fingers were too greasy to type due to his day job as a KFC taste tester.

Shawn Barbour

Louisville 42 – NC State 31

This will be a tough game. While I don’t think NC State is the better team in this contest, it is on the road, a Friday night sold out crowd, it’s a blackout, and Louisville has historically struggled in night games at Carter-Finley. To me, this is a shootout scenario. While Brennan Armstrong and Robert Anae have proven in the past to be a formidable duo, they are not hitting on all cylinders this season…yet. The Cards seemed to have found a nice offensive rhythm and have a ton of weapons. This game comes down to Jawhar Jordan continuing his incredible string of performances dating back to last year’s bowl game and Jack Plummer building on his outstanding outing against BC. I’m taking UofL 42-NC State 31.

Sam Basden

Louisville 30 – NC State 24

NC State’s football team doesn’t scare me. However, a night game in Carter-Finley Stadium is a different story. The Wolfpack defense is going to be what keeps this game close. If the Cards can find a way to slow down or confuse the talented linebacker group there should be plenty of room for the slot receivers and TEs to operate. The Louisville offense will continue to improve and the Card’s defense will be just good enough to seal the game. Cards win 30-24.

Dalton Pence

Louisville 31 – NC State 28

I think the Cards escape a hostile road environment with a win. This will be the toughest test for the team by far, but I believe Jeff Brohm will have this squad ready for the challenge.
