CSZ Staff Predictions: Louisville Vs Notre Dame

Jeremy Wahman

Louisville 20 – Notre Dame 19

The Cards come home to a raucous environment here at L&N for a top 25 battle under the lights. The stadium is nuts, people are actually in their seats & the stage is set for a classic. For me it’s hard to pick. I haven’t seen consistency sustained from our qb yet. How will he handle the prime time lights? We know we can rattle Hartman so that’s no worry. We can defend the run very well. Our midfield play on defense will be the turning point. This really boils down to head vs heart type deal. This is the toughest pick I’ve ever had to make because I don’t know that they are much better than we are. Cards 20 ND 19. The last time I was this conflicted I picked close & we hung 60 on FSU. We will see. Uggh….

Jeff Nunn

Louisville 30 – Notre Dame 28

Every single “expert” has picked Notre Dame. And I think Notre Dame is the better team right now, They have faced and beaten better opponents than the Cards. But… I choose to look at the fact that Cardinal Stadium is  a personal house of horrors for one Sam Hartman. Last time he played at Cardinal Stadium he had 3 INT’s  and 3 fumbles. You know that will be playing in his head. I also think Duke provided a blue print to Brohm on how to slow ND’s rushing game. This won’t be easy but since I accurately predicted the spread and predicted this game as an upset in my preseason predictions, I’m gonna roll with it.

Higgy

Notre Dame 31 – Louisville 28

Cards defense plays great in first half & offense plays good as well. In 2nd half the Cards Defense gets tired of Irish Rushing. ND kicks a field goal as time expires. I really don’t hope this happen but I wants a Cards shock the world moment!

Sam Basden

Notre Dame 30 – Louisville 24

Louisville is probably catching Notre Dame at the best time. For 2 consecutive weeks, ND has been pushed to limit both physically and mentally. The Cards are coming off a tough road victory and look to improve to 6-0. Both the fans and the football team will give everything Notre Dame could handle, but the battle tested. Fighting Irish still prevails 30-24. The Cards offense struggles against a very talented ND defense, and the Cards defense keep it has close aa they could.

Dalton Pence

Notre Dame 34 – Louisville 28

Went back and forth with this one, and wouldn’t be surprised to be wrong! Best team the Cards will play all season, and I think it’ll be super close. We bounce back against Pitt.

Blake McCauley

 Notre Dame 30 – Louisville 20

Hope to be wrong on this, but if Notre Dame is able to apply pressure to Plummer it could be a long day. Audric Estime is a proven Sunday player as well, so containing him on the ground will be key. The total is sitting around 53 and 54 depending on the book so we will take a sweat on the under.

The CSZ staff consensus average is

UofL 25 – Notre Dame 29

Las Vegas Line = ND -6.5

Over/under = 54

CSZ staff predicted average odds = ND -4 Over/Under = 54
