CSZ Staff Predictions: Louisville vs Virginia

Jeremy Wahman

Louisville 41 – Virginia 17

Defense holds serve Guerendo, Jordan & Turner all go for 100 yards Defensive TD

Jeff Nunn

Louisville 45 – Virginia 7

Traditionally, Louisville struggles with Virginia. This season isn’t a traditional one. This could easily be a shutout for the Cards D but I would assume everyone will play in the 2nd half and UVA might score a late meaningless TD. The defense will force 3 turnovers and 1 defensive score.

Shawn Barbour

Louisville 42 – Virginia 3

Louisville defense swarms as usual and the offense runs the ball like they have been. I believe the passing game will contribute the most they have in a while. Virginia is worse than Boston College. While they upset UNC, they will likely be down their starting QB and one or 2 defensive starters. I’m going 42-3 only bc I think we still go run heavy and eat a lot of clock.

Higgy

Louisville 37 – Virginia 3

Cards defense is too much for UVA & Jack shows shades of Boston College again. Defense also has 5 sacks & maybe 1 TD comes from them. The defense has been great so far & this is only year one. The cards show a big win to playoff committee & contenders that we are coming for a shot!

Sam Basden

Louisville 33 – Virginia 10

The Cards have been playing lights out at home (Hahaha), and that’s not going to change this Thursday. Typically, UVA plays Louisville close, but if this team wants to prove that they are one of the best in the league, they won’t play around with Virginia. UVA has one of the worst defenses Louisville will see this season. Look for Plummer to continue to be efficient and even stretch the field some in this game with UVA focusing on stopping the Cards running game. Cards beat UVA 33-10.

Brendan Holba

Louisville 31 – Virginia 3

Louisville’s football team is poised for a 31-3 victory over Virginia this week for several reasons. First, the Cardinals boast a formidable defense that has been absolutely stifling the last few weeks. With a pass rush led by Gillotte and a strong secondary, they have the tools to limit Virginia’s scoring opportunities. Additionally, Louisville’s depth at running back and offensive line gives them an advantage in ball control, allowing them to sustain long, time-consuming drives and keep Virginia’s offense off the field. And just to make things interesting, the predicted weather conditions provide Louisville with an opportunity to exploit the ground game and control the tempo.
