After Louisville football’s amazing 10-2 season leading to their first ACC championship, the program had 3 players named to the First Team All-ACC, 1 player earn a Second Team All-ACC selection, and 4 players earn Third Team All-ACC selections. Defensive end Ashton Gillotte and offensive lineman Bryan Hudson were all named to the first team, wide receiver Jamari Thrash was named to the second team, and quarterback Jack Plummer, and offensive lineman Michael Gonzalez to the third team. Running back Jawhar Jordan was named First Team All-ACC as a running back and Third Team All-ACC as an All Purpose player.
Hudson has been the leader of a spectacular offensive line for the Cards this season, making sure the line had the right protection, protecting QB Jack Plummer, and opening wholes for fellow first teamer Jawhar Jordan.
Jordan, despite being hampered by injuries for the last third of the season, was excellent. He ran for 1076 yards on 167 attempts with 13 touchdowns. He averaged 6.4 yards per carry on the ground. As a receiver, he had 18 receptions for 225 yards and a TD.
Gillotte was a constant force on the defensive line. He recorded 43 tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss, and 11 sacks. His pass rushing and hard hitting style allowed him to force 3 fumbles. He also managed to recover a fumble.
Thrash had 56 receptions for 801 yards and 6 touchdowns. He battled a wrist injury since the Pittsburgh game, but still managed to be a force throughout the season.
Gonzalez started every game at guard, helping Jawhar Jordan rush for over 1000 yards. He was a stalwart right next to Hudson.
Plummer threw for 2952 yards and 21 touchdowns with 11 interceptions. He completed 66-percent of his passes. He also rushed for 60 yards and a TD.
Quincy Riley, TJ Quinn, Eric Miller, Willie Tyler, Dez Tell, Quincy Riley, and Cam’Ron Kelly were all honorable mentions.
Congrats to all the honored Cards. They now will look to capture the ACC championship Saturday night against Florida State.
