
On Monday Morning it was announced that legendary assistant coach Jerry Jones passed away. We at CSZ send our thoughts, prayers & love to Coach Jones family & friends.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Former longtime University of Louisville men’s basketball assistant coach Jerry Jones passed away Monday at the age of 89.
Jones served alongside legendary UofL head coach Denny Crum for 24 years from 1973-96, joining the program one year after Crum’s arrival, then served five more years on Crum’s staff as a university relations assistant from 1996-2001. During his tenure as an assistant, the Cardinals reached five Final Fours, including the 1980 and ’86 national championships.
He was inducted into the UofL Athletics Hall of Fame in 1998.
Jones also worked with Crum as an assistant for the 1987 USA Pan American Games team.
Additionally, he served for a period as the chairman of the Assistant Basketball Coaches Committee of the NABC (National Association of Basketball Coaches).
