#4 Volleyball (7-1):
Welcome back for another week of “This Week In Cardinal Athletics” for the week of September 9nd – September 15th.
Volleyball had a HUGE bounce back week. The Cardinals competed against Northern Iowa and #9 Creighton in the Cardinal Invitational. Senior outside hitter, Charitie Luper, led the Cardinals with 16 kills that helped the Cardinals sweep Northern Iowa. The Cardinals then turned around less than 24hrs later to face #9 Creighton. Charitie carried the Cardinals a victory in 5 sets over #9 Creighton. She had a season high of 17 kills which earned her MVP Honors for the Cardinal Invitational.
Up Next: The Cardinals have a tough week this week with matchups against the blue school in Lexington on Wednesday at 7pm and then #2 Nebraska comes to Yum Center. Come out and support them on Sunday!!
Men’s Soccer (4-2):
The Cardinals soccer team had an interesting week. The Cardinals started with a 1-0 victory over the blue school on Monday before falling to #7 Pittsburgh on Friday. The Cardinals fell behind 2-0 early and try to mount a comeback to the Panthers, but fell to them 3-2.
Up Next: The team hosts Syracuse on Friday at 7:30pm.
