On Saturday evening at Freedom Hall. the Cards faced Stanford with a Final Four appearance on the line. The Cards stumbled out of ther gate falling behind early and dropping set 1 (25-22). Set 2 the Cards came out with a purpose and flat out dominated winning set 2 (25-14). The momentum had shifted but Stanford wasn’t just going to quit. the 3rd set was a battle and the Cards prevailed ( 28-26). Now leading 2 sets to 1, the Cards just needed to finish. Small runs back and forth by both teams kept it interesting but ultimately the Cards took care of business (25-20).
The Cards advance to the Final Four to face number 1 overall seed Pittsburgh on Thursday (Dec 19th) evening at the YUM Center at either 6:30 or 9:30.
