Gameday Recap: Louisville vs. Virginia

The Louisville men’s basketball team extended it’s streak to eight consecutive victories on Saturday afternoon with an 81-67 win over Virginia at home. The Cards are up to 14-5 overall and 6-1 in the ACC. UVA now sits at 8-10 on the year and 1-6 in conference play. The announced attendance was 18,233, the most since January 2022.

We are at the point where the conversation around this Louisville team is not about whether they can make the NCAA tournament, but just how high can they be seeded when the bracket is revealed in March. The ACC is down yet again this season. There are plenty of okay if not bad teams in the conference. The Cards continue to take care of business against those teams and will likely find themselves ranked in the next week or two as things stand.

The game on Saturday all but confirmed that this fan base has bought all the way back in after a dismal past few seasons. There is no reason to believe that the attendance and overall atmosphere at the Yum! won’t continue to improve as the season comes to an end. This Louisville team is good. There is plenty to be excited about entering the next couple of months.
