Baker was ranked as a Top 60 player by HOOPGURLZ & ESPNW 100.
As a freshman under Coach Kenny Brooks (who left after her freshman year to go to the blue school), Baker played in every game (33 games) and averaged 3.4 ppg as the back up to Elizabeth Kitley. Baker show cased her ability to stretch the floor by shooting 38% from distance.
As a sophomore, Baker improved her shooting to almost 42%, while shooting 50 more attempts throughout the season. Carys’ game saw improvements all around with the uptick in playing time. Baker started all 32 games, averaged 12.6 ppg, 6.3 rpg, and had 24 blocks (doubling her output as a freshman.)
Last year, although her team lost 60-85 to the Cards, Baker totaled 16 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 steals in 33 minutes. Baker, normally a capable and reliable shooter from beyond the arc went 0-5 in that game, but still went 8-14 from the field.

The versatile lefty is going to fit in perfectly with Coach Walz “Just win mentality & coaching philosophy.” Baker has the ability to produce baskets in the post, as well as knockdown shot from beyond the arc.
Coach Walz and staff are killing it in the portal. With Baker’s commitment, the Louisville staff is up to 3 commits today. It truly was a huge weekend for Louisville, and today showed. Baker, now joins former ACC foe Zam Jones, and former Tennessee Volunteer Deniya Prawl as the latest to join the Louisville Cardinals.
