Terrence Edwards Jr scores a career high 35, Chucky added 16 points, 7 rebounds, & 4 assists, & J-Had contributed 16 points & 8 rebounds as the Cards beat the stuffing out of the Bears 85-68. The Cards avenge their loss from their only meeting against Cal in the first round of the 2010 NCAA Tournament. They get their 24th victory of the season, tripling last year’s win total. Louisville had only won 25 games the prior 3 seasons combined. They also set a record for most conference wins in a season with 17.
The game started off real sloppy for the Cards as Cal went on a 10-8 run in the first 7 minutes of the game. It was a super physical start to this game. The Cards were missing easy buckets, but still found a way to tie the game up at 12. Hustle & rebounding kept the Cards in the game & they finally took the lead after a TE2 bucket down low. It’s 14-12 Cards. TE2 with 11 quick points just 9 minutes in. Next man up mentality! Chucky cools off & TE2 steps up. Beautiful. He really is Teddiculous.

This team is the most team’s team ever. A fight nearly broke out after a Cal player tripped TE2 & the rest of our team went running to his aid.
A horse crap call gives TE2 his 3rd foul with 4 minutes in the first half. They also announced that Reyne injured himself in the first half with all of his family in town for the first time. Ouch.
The Cards force Cal to shoot 1 for their last 14 field goals. A Noah Waterman 3-point bucket put the Cards up 10. A 6-minute drought for Cal leads to James Scott’s 58th dunk of the season. Louisville went up 12 with a minute left in the half.
Chucky hit his first fg of the night with 45 seconds left in the first half & the Cards led 41-26. It should’ve been the last shot of the first half after another Cal brick. They should probably build a few homes. The Cards hold Cal scoreless from the field since the 8:06 mark. Waterman gets called for the offensive foul & the Cards D up the Bears to take the 41-26 lead to the half. A 19-4 run to end the first half.
A frustrating first 15 minutes of the game, but the Cards go out and are up 15 at the half. The first 4 minutes of the second half are important for both teams.
The Cards impose their will in that 4-minute period outscoring Cal 12-3 to extend the lead to 24 behind a Waterman 3-point play, a Chucky 3, & another TE2 three-pointer. Sheesh. Boom #2 came early.
Cal goes on a quick 8-0 run to cut the lead to 16. They start playing a lot better & cut the lead down to 11, but the Cards boom them a third time to go up 70-51 with 7 minutes left.
It doesn’t get any better the rest of the way as the Cards dust the Bears 85-68. UofL took a while to get going, but they ultimately got the job done. The Cards host Stanford Saturday at 2 pm on ESPNU.
