The Cards overcame a slow start defensively to put down the Boston College Eagles 38-24.
Boston College got on the board first when they drove down the field and hit the FG to go up 3-0. The Cards gave up 38 yards rushing on the first drive after only allowing 63 all game vs Miami.
The Cards stormed right back on their first play from scrimmage when Isaac Brown had a 73-yard run that almost went to the house! On 1st-and-goal from the 2, the Cards gained only about a yard and a half. Miller Moss nearly fumbled running the tush push, but scored from the 1. The touchdown made it 7-3 Louisville on a 1:47 drive.
The rest of the first quarter was a draw and we headed to the second quarter. The first play of the 2nd quarter was a bust on a trick play and BC went up 10-7. This felt a lot worse than it was. A 3-&-out by Louisville followed by 2 straight BC turnovers on downs showed that Louisvilles defense was alive!
Louisville had their fourth possession and it started off with a scare. Chris Bell appeared in real time to have fumbled, but it was proven by replay to be an incomplete pass. Kejuan Brown then caught a pass in the flat and took it 49 yards down to the 10 at the 2 minute warning. After a 2-yard rush, Moss took it in from 9 yards out to make it 14-10 Cards.
It’s BC ball with 1:40 left & after 40 seconds they went 3-and-out after a masterful three down defensive clinic. Louisville got the ball back with 1:02 left. Plenty of time to score. Isaac Brown hadn’t been seen since he took a hard hit in the first quarter. He came back with a vengeance on this series & like magic it was one play, 62 yards, and a TOUCHDOWN! 21-10 Cards just like that.
It was BC ball with 1 minute left in the half. They got 2 yards on first down, but then Grayson James overshot on 2nd down & just like that its 3rd down. He overshot again on 3rd down & it was 4th down. Another 3-&-out with 45 seconds left! Cards got the ball again!
On UofL’s fifth possession, they started off at the 35 with 37 seconds left & drove down the field to get into field goal range. Cooper Ranvier’s kick boinked off the post with no time left in the first half. Louisville took their 21-10 lead into the half.
Isaac Brown had 151 yards and a TD at the half & Moss only threw for 74 yards.
Louisville received the second half kickoff and on the first play from scrimmage, Isaac Brown fumbled and BC took over with great field position. The Eagles got 10 on first down, & another TE gadget play gave BC an easy score. The Cards messed up & BC scored again. The lead was down to 21-17.
There were 3 alternating 3-and-outs that led into the start of turnover fest.
BC got the ball at the 26, but fumbled. Watts SCOOP-AND-SCORE However, the fumble return TD was overruled because the whistle blew and the play was dead, but Louisville did get possession deep in Eagle territory. BC has still lost every fumble they have committed this season.
Lacy for 4 on 1st down. Then Moss hit a 22-yard strike to Lacy for a TD. It was 28-17 Cards. They extended their nation-leading streak of scoring 24 points to 21 games.
A BC three-&-out was followed by a Moss tipped ball interception. However, the defense helped their QB out as Guerad got an INT off of a Lubin tip! It was the Cards football again in the blink of an eye. UofL committed a plethora of penalties (hadn’t committed many to that point) and it was the end of the 3rd quarter. To start the fourth quarter, the Cards set up for what appeared to be a long field goal, but it was a fake! Instead, they punted the ball and it was downed at the 4 by Ranvier!
BC had another 3-&-out, but UofL immediately turned it back over after a blindside sack where Moss fumbled during turnover fest 2025. But wait there’s more! BC’s QB threw it right to Caleb Perry & it was Louisville ball again from the 30. The Cards got into scoring range & a Cooper Ranvier made field goal made it 31-17 Cards.
BC then marched down the field. They went for it on fourth down and got it. They then scored on a 21-yard touchdown pass. The lead was cut down to 7. 31-24 Cards. The Cards just can’t get out of their own way.
UofL compounded that with a three-&-out of their own & punted the ball with 4:44 remaining in the game. It was once again on the defense to secure the bag and win the game.
BC took possession of the ball on the 26. After a gain of 3 and a converted first down, it was 2nd-&-8. The Eagles threw it away. Then another pass was defended on third down, and it is fourth down. BC decided to punt with 3 minutes left??? Ok. Cards will take the break.
UofL just had to run out the clock. Kejuan started off the possession with a three-yard gain followed by IB for 5. It left the Cards with a third down. A clutch 18-yard catch by Skinner made it first-and-10 from the opponent 43 with 2:30 left in the game.
Isaac Brown for two yards followed by a 15-yard flag for holding and its first-&-20. Kejuan got the ball, but got almost nothing as the two minute warning arrived. On second-and-19 a big play was needed, and a big run is what was delivered as Kejuan Brown took it 66 yards and put the game away! His long TD run made it 38-24 Louisville. Chris Bell had a key block that sprung Brown.
BC got the ball with 1:18 left and did nothing with it. Cards win!

Louisville had 3 60-yard plus TDs.
Cards had 319 rushing yards (Eric Mac Lean called it).
3 different Cardinal rushers got a TD.
The Cards start off 6-1 for the second time under Brohm.
