Jeff Nunn 10-2
I was leaning towards 9-3 but I feel like being optimistic. In my opinion, there are potentially 5 losses on the schedule (Ole Miss, SMU, GT, Pitt and NC State). The difference between going 3-2 and 2-3 in those 5 games will determine more than just getting my predictions right. It could be the difference in playing in the ACC championship or not. My hope is we go 4-1 and give ourselves a shot at the CPF. And yes, that’s a very real possibility!

While this feels like an optimistic prediction, it certainly can happen. Brohm has to avoid the yearly blunder that has plagued his tenure at UofL and the Cards have to start 2-1, splitting between Ole Miss and SMU. If they do that, the rest of the schedule is set up for them to run the table and make the ACC championship. The formula is simple, beat who you’re supposed to and win one of the two big games on the schedule.

Louisville will lose the opener against Ole Miss and one of the best returning quarterbacks in the county. They will rattle off 7 straight wins before falling at Georgia Tech in November. They will close the regular season on a high note with 3 wins to finish 10-2.
Dalton Pence 10-2
This is the season for Louisville to take the next step. The Cardinals roster is extremely talented, and the conference schedule is extremely favorable.
Justin Krueger 10-2
I’m normally more cautious on my season predictions, but I do believe that this team has the potential to be a major factor this year. The floor is very high with the talent level of this team (think 9-3 as a baseline), especially on defense. The question with this group: can they beat Ole Miss and/or SMU, and avoid having a slump in November like last year?
If the answer is yes, then this team can make the ACC Championship — and even win.
Sam Basden 10-2
This is the year Coach Brohm gets his first 10 win regular season record for Louisville. The only game I have Louisville losing is the season opener. Ole Miss is returning a ton of talent from a Playoff team and at the most important position on the field in quarterback in Trinidad Chambliss. Even though SMU thumped Louisville last year, and despite this game being played in Louisville, I still see SMU squeaking out of L&N with a win (IF Kevin Jennings is healthy, Louisville wins). Louisville should be the favorites for the rest of the season. Cards get to at least 10 wins, makes the ACC playoffs and the CFP. #GoCards.

The Cards finally get over the hump but they will still lose one that we expect them to win.
Shawn Barbour 10-2
Louisville should have a solid defense. Offensively, if Lincoln Kienholz can play mistake-free, he has a number of weapons that can make plays. This could easily be a 11-1 season, but it mostly depends on Kienholz being a good QB. Cards will probably either lose the Ole Miss or SMU game and then there are a couple of interesting games against Georgia Tech and North Carolina on the road that could be a potential loss. The Georgia Tech game is the one that worries me most. Still, Cards have a chance at the playoff. It’s all there for the taking.
Joe Wahman 10-2
Brohm breaks the streak of losing to a team we shouldn’t. We could go 11-1 or 12-0, it all depends on Lincoln Kienholz. If he lives up to the hype, the ceiling is very high for this team. I believe the defense will be stout with Clev Lubin back. Very excited to watch this team and see them reach their potential.
Gabrielle Vence 10-2
I’m feeling pretty good about this Louisville team this year, so I’m going with 10-2. I think Ole Miss and SMU are the two games that could really go either way, but if the Cards can take care of business in the games they’re supposed to win, I think they have a good shot at going far this season.
