On Monday afternoon, the 14/15 ranked Louisville Cardinals (14-4, 2-3) will face the 25/24 ranked Marquette Golden Eagles (14-4, 3-2). The series between these two teams has had some of the best finishes to their games, as you will see at the end of this post. The Cards are coming off of a 76-59 win over DePaul on Saturday afternoon, and Marquette is also coming off of a Saturday win, vs Pittsburgh.
The big scorers for the Golden Eagles are Darius Johnson-Odom and Jae Crowder. Johnson-Odom is a senior who is averaging 18.1 ppg this season. Crowder is also a senior and he averages 16.3 ppg and 7.2 rebounds per game.

After losing 4 of 5 games, the Cards finally got a win against DePaul. We will see if they can now turn the corner and play well from here on out, or if that was just a win because they were just more talented than the Blue Demons. A win on Monday would put the Cards at 3-3 in the Big East, right back in the hunt with a lot of 4-2 teams.
Marquette has had a similar season to UofL as far as the records go. They started out 10-0, then lost 4 out of 6 games. It should be noted, however, that two of those losses were on the road to Georgetown and Syracuse. They have won 2 in a row now, and look to continue their new streak against the Cards. UofL will also be trying to start a new streak of their own, and prove that the 31 point loss at Providence was just a fluke.
The game will tip at 3:30 on Monday afternoon in the Bradley Center. It can be seen on ESPN, and heard on 840 WHAS AM.
If history has taught us anything, it is that this game will be a close one. Some of the most memorable late game heroics in UofL history have come against Marquette. Remember Francisco Garcia pulling from deep to win the game? How about a pair of Wisconsin natives, Reece Gaines and Jerry Smith, delivering the daggers? Down 18 points in the KFC Yum! Center, remember that? Here you go!
