Donel Elam
On Sunday afternoon, the Cardinal football team received a verbal committment for the class of 2013. Donel Elam, an Outside Linebacker/Safety from Orange Park, FL (Fleming Island HS) joined Kyle Bolin as committments to the Cards. Elam attended Junior Day in Louisville, and obviously came away impressed. We were able to get Donel to answer a few questions for us here at CSZ. Here is what he had to say…

CSZ: What made you choose to commit to UofL?
Donel: I chose UofL because I liked the coaching staff and I liked the campus.
CSZ: You play both Linebacker and Safety. Did the coaches say what position they see you playing in college?
Donel: Yea they want me to play Safety.
CSZ: What do you think of the defense that Coach Strong and the staff are putting together?
Donel: It is a very unique defense. I can’t wait to be apart of it.
CSZ: What did you like the most about the city of Louisville?
Donel: I just thought it was a great city with great people.
CSZ: How was Junior Day at UofL?
Donel: Junior Day was a good experience. I am glad I was there for it.
CSZ: What can you see UofL accomplishing in these next few years?
Donel: I see great things happening in the future with the players they are bringing in.
We would like to thank Donel for taking time out of his day to talk with us. To speak with us on the day he committed means a lot, because he was surely busy talking with others as well. Thank you Donel!
