The Louisville Field Hockey team started their season this past Friday against Indiana (IU) in a scrimmage. The Cards scored one goal in the first half and two in the second to beat IU 3-0. They then played a 7 v 7 overtime period just to get some more work in since it was a scrimmage. Victoria Stratton and Erin Conrad were two key players in the Cardinals victory. Stratton scored two goals against the Hoosiers and Conrad shut out Indiana with superb defense. The Cardinals, picked to finish third in the 2012 BIG EAST Field Hockey Preseason Coaches’ Poll, open the 2012 regular season this Friday, August 24, as they host the Sherrill Brakmeier Classic at Trager Stadium.
