Friday was a busy day for UofL teams. Here is a quick rundown of the action!
*Volleyball– the 11th ranked Cards swept Marquette to improve to 24-3, 13-1 on the season! Marquette dropped to 23-5, 12-2 on the season. To sweep a team of that caliber was huge for the Cards! They won the matches 25-22, 25-16, and 25-18.
*Women’s Basketball– In a huge season opener, the 9th ranked Cards held off 12th ranked Texas A&M 47-45 to start the season 1-0! Sara Hammond led the way with 20 points (career high) and 13 rebounds. In her first game back from a knee injury last December, Monique Reid added 10 points.
*Men’s Tennis– Sophomore Luis Elizondo advanced to the singles and doubles semifinals in the Louisville Winter Invitational at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center! His doubles partner was freshman Colton Buffington.
*Women’s Tennis– the Cards competed in the Western Michigan Invitational, and will do so again today.
*Cross Country– Both the men and women competed in the NCAA Southeast Regionals. The men placed 10th of 34 teams, and the women placed 33rd of 37 teams.
