Will Jason Hatcher visit UofL?

Jason Hatcher

By Justin Renck:

There have been some interesting developments today in the recruitment of Trinity High School star defensive end Jason Hatcher. Steve Jones, of the Courier-Journal, has been on top of this story, and most of this info comes from his blog, which you can read here.

On Tuesday night, Hatcher de-committed from USC via Twitter. Then today (Thursday), USC assistant Ed Orgeron was at Hatcher’s house for an in-home visit. According to Hatcher’s mom, Orgeron was there to let Hatcher know that USC still wants him.

Hatcher was supposed to visit Florida this weekend, but that had already been cancelled. Then it was said that Hatcher was moving his UofL visit up to this coming weekend. His mom said he was not, but apparently he says he is. The original thought was that Hatcher was going to officially visit UofL next weekend, right before National Signing Day (Feb 6).

Here is where that part is now questioned. This comes right from Steve Jones’ blog: She (Hatcher’s mom) said it’s possible she and her son could still make an official visit somewhere next weekend, “but pretty much right now, I think it’s over. It’s gotten too hectic. I don’t like it. It’s too much for me.”

Asked specifically about whether the family might visit Louisville next weekend, she again said it’s a possibility “if he wants to. It’s up to Jason.”

So now, who really knows? Will it be the Cards, Cats, or are the Trojans back in play? According to a text that Hatcher sent to Jones, he is “waiting for signing day” to decide and let us know.

That is where we stand as of now, and we will keep you posted if anything else happens with this.
