Sophomore Montrezl Harrell has accepted an invitation to attend the 2013 USA Basketball Men’s U19 World Championship team training camp. The camp will be held June 14-19 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO.
The team will be coached by Florida’s Billy Donovan, and he will have Tony Bennett (Virginia) and Shaka Smart (VCU) as assistants. Not a bad staff! There are 24 players who are invited to the camp, and the team will be cut down to 12.
Montrezl had a solid season for the Cards in his Freshman campaign, but two moments in particular should stick out to the fans. In just 24 minutes against Syracuse in the Big East Tournament Championship, Harrell scored 20 points, grabbed 7 rebounds, and just flat-out took over the game.
