#ChickenWillBeInTheBucketTonight

Chicken2bucket

Tonight marks a coming home party of a different kind. A long road home with several different twists. It looked like all was lost when he committed to Houston, then conference realignment struck and the basketball gods decided….it will be. Tonight people will cry out Chicken, Chicken, Chicken and not mean it as an answer to what they want for dinner. Tonight Danrad “Chicken” Knowles will step foot into the KFC Yum! Center and play a game versus the Louisville Cardinals that will be like no other he will ever play. We sat down with him last night to see what his thoughts were. We very rarely profile a visiting player but this is one we just couldn’t miss. So excited that #ChickenWillBeInTheBucketTonight. Hope you enjoy.

CSZ: Thanks for talking with us tonight.

Chicken: You are welcome.

CSZ: It’s taken a little longer than you thought but how’s it feel to finally be in the full swing of college basketball?

Chicken: It feels really good and I am enjoying every moment of it. It’s like a dream come true.

CSZ: We were really glad it got resolved finally. People absolutely love you here in Louisville. Tell me a little bit about how the #bringchickentothebucket movement started on Twitter and what do you think of it?

Chicken: The movement started right after the NBA Top 100 Camp. I saw one of Mr. Rutherford’s (Card Chronicle) articles; he really created the movement. It’s crazy how big it got and there were shirts too. I really love it. It is something I’ll never forget.

CSZ: Twitter has been huge in getting information spread. Rutherford is a great writer. Starts a lot of stuff. Lol. Why do you think that people here love you so much?

Chicken: He is. I’ve got to call him tomorrow to see how he is doing. Haha it has to be the nickname Chicken and it fits well with the Yum Center.

CSZ: True true. We’ve all been tweeting and talking about #bringchickentothebucket for awhile now. What kind of response are you expecting tomorrow night?

Chicken: I don’t know but I can’t wait to see what happens though.

CSZ: I think you are going to get a great response. We love basketball here in Louisville and are very supportive of people we consider to be CardFam.

CSZ: How excited are you to play in the KFC Yum! center? It was ranked as one of the top 10 sporting venues in America.

Chicken: I’m hyped up to finally play in the KFC Yum! Center. I can’t wait 🙂

CSZ: There is a very good chance they are going to boo everyone on your team except you. Maybe even get mad when they pass you up for an open shot…haha

Chicken: Hahaha!!!!! That’s funny

CSZ: Did Louisville offer you?

Chicken: No

CSZ: Had they offered you and if Houston wasn’t your pick, do you think you would have picked Louisville?

Chicken: If they had offered me of course.

CSZ:  I will say this, Coach P doesn’t make a lot of mistakes but not offering you is surely one. Hope you have fun in the ‘Ville but not too much, and I appreciate you taking the time out to talk to me. Thank you.

Very nice young man and a great person also. I have decided to leave you with this Chicken dunkfest…..yes I know how that sounds and I don’t care…

Go Cards!
